Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Program, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) and the Tier I Hockey Federation (T1HF), will kick-off the 2024-25 campaign this weekend, Aug 23 - 25, with four teams in action.
The U18 and U16 Pittsburgh Stars will open the 24-25 season, and their Tier I Hockey Federation (THF) league schedule in Bridgewater, NJ, as they face the U18 and U16 New Jersey Rockets on Friday, Aug 23, and Saturday, Aug 24.
The U16 squads will kick things off on Friday at 6:00 p.m.; followed by the U18 squads, who take to the ice at 8:00 p.m. Then on Saturday the U16s square-off at 9:00 a.m.; followed by the U18s at 11:00 a.m., each concluding their two-game season-opening series. All four games will be at the Bridgewater Sports Arena.
The U15 Midget Stars will open their 24-25 season and Tier I Hockey Federation (THF) league schedule in Rockville, MD, as they face Team Maryland on Saturday, Aug 24 and Sunday Aug 25. Opening face-offs for the two-game series are set for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:40 a.m. on Sunday. Both games will be played at the Rockville Ice Arena in Rockville, MD.
The U12 Pee Wee Major Stars will open their 2024-25 season in State College, PA, with a two-game set against the U12 Philadelphia Jr Flyers on Saturday, Aug 24, at the Pegula Ice Arena on the campus of Penn State University. Opening face-offs are set for 12:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The Pittsburgh Stars program, the oldest Tier I program in the Mid-American District of USA Hockey and one of the oldest Tier I programs under the USA Hockey umbrella, will be celebrating their 40th season.
"We are excited to celebrate our 40th year of operation," said program founder and Stars General Manager Dave Kosick. "And we certainly are looking forward to sharing this very special season with our players, families, alumni and the amateur hockey community."
Game schedules for the '24-'25 season, excluding tournaments and showcases, as well as team rosters, have all been posted to the various Pittsburgh Stars team pages on the Stars website (www.pittsburghstarshockey.com).
