Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Program, proud members of the Tier I Hockey Federation (T1HF) and the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAT1HL), return to the ice this upcoming weekend, Nov 15 - 18, for exciting AAA hockey action as they continue to celebrate the Star's 40th season.
Three Stars teams will be in tournament action as the The U16 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars and the U15 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars both travel to the Windy City, Chicago, IL, to participate in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League - Chicago Showcase, and the U13 White AAA Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars travel north to Rochester, NY and participate in the Border Battle Tournament.
The U13 White AAA Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars will open play in the Border Battle Tournament on Friday with a pair of round-robin games. First up will be a showdown with the Troy Albany Titans at 9:45 a.m. They return to the ice Friday evening to face the Vegas Golden Knights U13 squad at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the Stars return to the ice for another pair of round-robin games. First up will be a game with the Rochester Coalition at 10:45 a.m. Then they return to the ice Saturday evening to close round-robin play against the Westchester Express North U13 squad at 3:15 p.m. Semi-final, consolation and championship opponents, rinks and game times will be determined as the tournament progresses. All round-robing games will be played at the Tim Horton's Iceplex in Rochester, NY.
The U16 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars will open the T1EHL - Chicago Showcase with a pair of games on Friday. First up will be a 1:00 p.m. game with the Milwaukee Admirals. They return to the ice at 7:15 p.m. to face the Chicago Fury. On Saturday, the Stars will face Victory Honda at 2:00 p.m. They close the Showcase on Sunday with an 8:00 a.m. game against the Colorado Rampage. All games will be played at the Arctic Ice Arena in Orland Park, IL.
The U15 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars open the T1EHL - Chicago Showcase with a pair of games on Saturday. First up will be a 10:00 a.m. game with the San Jose Jr Sharks. They return to the ice at 8:00 p.m. to face the Milwaukee Jr Admirals. On Sunday, the Stars will face Victory Honda at 4:00 p.m. They close the Showcase on Monday with an 8:00 a.m. game against the Philadelphia Jr Flyers. All games will be played at the Arctic Ice Arena in Orland Park, IL.
The U14 AAA Bantam Major Pittsburgh Stars will return to the friendly confines of Pittsburgh Ice Arena for a pair of T1HF games on Saturday, Nov. 16, against the Palmyra Black Knights. Opening face-offs are set for 1:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.
The U13 Red AAA Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars will also return to the friendly confines of Pittsburgh Ice Arena for four weekend T1HF games. On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Stars will face the Palmyra Black Knights, 12:00 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Then on Sunday, Nov 17, the Stars U13 Red squad will square-off with the Mercer Chiefs at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The U12 AAA Pee Wee Major Pittsburgh Stars will also return to the friendly confines of Pittsburgh Ice Arena and square-off in a pair of games on Sunday, Nov. 17, against the Ohio Prospects. Games times are set for 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The U18 AAA Midget Major Pittsburgh Stars will enjoy a scheduled weekend off.
Celebrating their 40th season during the 2024-25 season, the Pittsburgh Stars program is the oldest Tier I program in the Mid-American District of USA Hockey and one of the oldest Tier I programs under the USA Hockey umbrella.
