Stars Set to Welcome 2025 with Exciting AAA Hockey Weekend Action

Pittsburgh, PA - As the Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Program, proud members of the Tier I Hockey Federation (T1HF) and the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAT1HL), welcome the flipping of the calendar to 2025, they return to the ice this upcoming weekend, Jan 3 - 5, for exciting AAA hockey action as they continue to celebrate the Star's 40th season.

The Stars Midget teams (U18, U16 and U15) will return to action this weekend as they participate in the Elite Prospects Cup Series - Pittsburgh Tournament, Friday through Sunday, Jan 3 - 5.

The U18 AAA Midget Major Pittsburgh Stars open the EPCS - Pittsburgh Tournament against the New Jersey 87's on Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena. On Saturday, the Midget Major Stars hit the ice twice for a pair of games, back at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. At 10:15 a.m., the Midget Major Stars and the Maine Nordiques face-off. Then at 8:15 p.m., the Stars will close round-robin play against the New Jersey Rockets Elite. Semi-final and consolation games will be played on Sunday, Jan 5, 2025, with location, opponent and time to be determined. The 18U Elite Prospects Cup Series Finals will be played at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmer, PA.

The U16 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars open the EPCS - Pittsburgh Tournament on Friday with a 4:00 p.m. face-off against the Connecticut Jr Rangers at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmer, PA. The Midget Minor 16U Stars then hit the ice twice on Saturday. First up is an 8:15 a.m. game with Seacoast Performance Academy at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. Then at 4:15 p.m. they face the New Hampshire Mountain Kings back at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. Semi-final and consolation games will be played on Sunday, Jan 5, 2025, with location, opponent and time to be determined. The 16U Elite Prospects Cup Series Finals will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmer, PA.

The U15 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars open the EPCS - Pittsburgh Tournament with a pair of games on Friday. The Stars and New Jersey Rockets will face-off at 8:00 a.m. at Alpha Ice Arena in Harmer, PA. They will then face the New Jersey Jr Devils at 8:15 p.m. at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. On Saturday, the U15 Midget Minor Stars take on the New Hampshire Mountain Kings at 2:15 p.m. back at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. The Stars will close round-robin play against the PAL Jr Islanders at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. The Elite Prospects Cup Series U15 Finals will be played at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmer, PA.

The U14 AAA Bantam Major Pittsburgh Stars will take to the ice for a full four-game weekend. First up for the Bantam Major Stars is a 4:20 p.m. showdown on Friday, Jan 3, with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite at the UPMC Lemieux Complex in Cranberry Twp, PA. On Saturday, Jan 4, the Stars and the Cleveland Barons will hit the ice twice in Erie, PA. Opening face-offs, at the LECOM facility, are set for 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Then on Sunday, Jan 5, the Pens and Stars will complete their two-game weekend set at 11:15 a.m. back at the UPMC Lemieux Facility.

The U13 White Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars and the U12 Pee Wee Major Stars will both return to action this weekend at the SuperSeries Pittsburgh Showcase, Jan 3 - 5.

The U13 White Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars will open the SuperSeries Pittsburgh Showcase with a pair of games on Friday. First up will be a 8:00 a.m. face-off with the Texas Stars. They return to the ice at 5:00 p.m. to face the Carolina Alliance. On Saturday, the Stars return to the ice for two more games. First a 12:45 p.m. face-off against the Jersey Whalers. And then a 8:20 p.m. game against the 95 Giants. They close the Showcase with the Rochester Coalition at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. All games will be at the Palmer Imaging Center in Delmont, PA.

The U12 Pee Wee Minor Pittsburgh Stars will open the SuperSeries Pittsburgh Showcase with a pair of games on Friday. First up will be a 11:00 a.m. face-off with the Carolina Alliance. They return to the ice at 6:30 p.m. to face the Queen City Royals. On Saturday, the Stars return to the ice for two more games. First a 8:00 a.m. face-off against the West Dundee Leafs. And then a 5:00 p.m. game against the California Bears. They close the Showcase with a game against Team Philadelphia at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. All games will be at the Palmer Imaging Center in Delmont, PA. 

The U13 Red AAA Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars will enjoy a scheduled weekend off.

Game schedules for the '24-'25 season, as well as team rosters, have all been posted to the various Pittsburgh Stars team pages on the Stars website (www.pittsburghstarshockey.com).
