Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Program, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) and the Tier I Hockey Federation (T1HF), will continue their 2024-2025 Community Initiative Games on Saturday, Jan 25, as the U12 AAA Pittsburgh Stars will square-off with the Flyers Elite, in a Tier 1 Hockey Federation (T1HF) game at 3:30 p.m., at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena.
For their Community Initiative game on Jan 25, the 12U Pittsburgh Stars will wear special third jerseys, designed to recognize and honor North Hills Community Outreach as their Cause / Initiative.
North Hills Community Outreach is a community outreach organization that addresses the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty. People helping people since 1987.
The North Hills Community Outreach provides a variety of services to individuals in the northern greater Pittsburgh area, including the New Kensington area. Services include food pantries, transportation assistance, tax preparation assistance, employment assistance, utilities and rental assistance, education assistance, ask the attorney, and older adult services.

The community initiative event will be filled with excitement and family-friendly activities, including:
“This event is a great way for our youngest team to help raise funds for those in need,” said Dave Kosick, General Manager of the Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey program.
“The event affords our program an opportunity to recognize and promote awareness of the the work and efforts of the North Hills Community Outreach,” Kosick added.
Doors open at 2:30, with the puck dropping promptly at 3:30 PM.
The Pittsburgh Stars 12U AAA Hockey Team encourages fans of all ages to attend and show their support.
The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Community Initiative games are designated to celebrate a local charity or cause and help raise awareness and funds for them. Each of the Stars seven AAA teams selected a recipient and have organized a “special home game” to recognize the cause / charity and raise money on behalf of them.

U15 AAA Pittsburgh Stars – Ronald McDonald House – Saturday, Feb 1, 2025, 10:00 a.m., vs. CarShield AAA
U14 AAA Pittsburgh Stars – Ronald McDonald House – Saturday, Feb 8, 2025, 5:00 p.m., vs. Jersey Hitmen
All Community Initiative games will be played at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena in New Kensington, PA, home rink for the Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey program.

The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey program, the oldest Tier I AAA program in the Mid-American District (founded in 1984 and continuously providing elite training and showcase opportunities for amateur hockey players since) and one of the oldest Tier I AAA programs under the USA Hockey umbrella, was founded in 1984 and is celebrating their 40th season during the 2024-2025 campaign.
