Pittsburgh, PA - The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Program, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAT1HL) and the Tier I Hockey Federation (T1HF), will return to the ice this upcoming weekend, Oct 17–19, for an exciting AAA hockey showcase and league action as they celebrate the program's 41st season.
The U13 AAA Bantam Minor Pittsburgh Stars will travel south to Rockville, MD, for a two-game THF League weekend series with Team Maryland. On Saturday, Oct 4, the Stars Bantam Minor squad and Team Maryland will faceoff at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Stars and Team Maryland will complete the two-game set with an opening faceoff set for 9:20 a.m. The U13 games will be at the Rockview Ice Arena in Rockview.
The U14 AAA Bantam Major Pittsburgh Stars will travel south to Rockville, MD, for a two-game THF League weekend series with Team Maryland. On Saturday, Oct 4, the Stars Bantam Minor squad and Team Maryland will faceoff at 6:20 p.m. Then on Sunday, the Stars and Team Maryland will complete the two-game set with an opening faceoff set for 11:00 a.m. The U14 games will also be at the Rockview Ice Arena in Rockview.
The U15 Midget Minor Stars will travel North to Buffalo, NY, to participate in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) – Buffalo Showcase. On Friday, Oct 17, the U15 (only) Stars take to the ice twice. First up is a 10:00 a.m. game with the Nashville Jr. Predators at the LECOM HarborCenter in downtown Buffalo. Then at 6:00 p.m., the Stars will face the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes at the Northtown Center in Amherst, NY. On Saturday, Oct 18, the U15 Stars will face the Chicago Fury at 12:00 p.m., at the Northtown Center. The Stars Midget Minor U15 squad will close their T1EHL – Buffalo Showcase schedule on Sunday, Oct 19, at 2:00 p.m., against the Buffalo Jr Sabres back at the LECOM HarborCenter.
The U16 AAA Midget Minor Pittsburgh Stars will also travel north to Buffalo, NY, to participate in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) – Buffalo Showcase. On Friday, Oct 17, 12:00 p.m., the U16 Stars will square-off with Carolina Jr. Hurricanes at the Northtown Center in Amherst, NY. On Saturday, Oct 18, the Midget Minor Stars will take to the ice twice. First up will be a 12:15 p.m. game with the Washington Little Capitals at the LECOM HarborCenter in downtown Buffalo. Then at 8:00 p.m., the Stars will face BioSteel Academy (SD) back at the Northtown Center in Amherst. The Stars Midget Minor U16 squad will close their T1EHL – Buffalo Showcase on Sunday, Oct 19, at 10:15 a.m., against the Nashville Jr. Predators back at the LECOM HarborCenter.
The U18 AAA Midget Major Pittsburgh Stars will travel West to Detroit, MI, to participate in the CCM Motown Tournament. The Stars open the tournament on Friday, Oct 17, with a pair of round-robin games. First up will be a 12:40 p.m. opening faceoff against Michigan Hockey Academy. The Stars return to the ice at 7:40 p.m. to face Compuware (MI) AAA. The Midget Major Stars will complete round-robin play on Saturday, Oct 18, with a 1:00 p.m. game against the Queen City Royals (NC) at 1:00 p.m. All of the Star’s round-robin games will be played at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena in Farmington Hills, MI. Semi-final and consolation games will be determined post round-robin play. And the CCM Motown Tournament 18U Championship game will be played at 1:30 p.m. at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
